  1. About Carlos Acosta
He gave his final main stage performance as a Principal of The Royal Ballet on 12 November 2015. After the performance, he took a short speech on the stage.
In that speech, he told his appreciation to his friends and colleagues. From that speech, I knew that many people helped him before and after he became famous and he never forgot about them.

  2. I saw an interview, “Carlos Acosta reflects on 17 years with The Royal Ballet”.
In the interview, the most interesting part for me was about his vision after his retirement from the ballet company. He said that he did not have any plan or dream. That was because he thought what he should do was just accepting what happened to him.
I think this idea is useful to pursue an achievement. When I face hardship, I sometimes try to find reasons which justify giving up the challenge. However, if I can think that there is no choice but to accept it, I can avoid backing from the challenge.

  4. I watched the videos of Ana Beatriz Figueiredo.
Although she is a first female winner, she said she didn’t think it is important for her. She said “win” was important for her. I think she’s a very cool person. She overcame the handicap of female and won. She stood on an equal footing with male and won. She must have made an effort more than others, however she was not proud of it. If I were her, I would be proud of my win as a first “female” player. This is why I respect her strong spirit with passion.

  5. Both of them started their pathway since they were children. The first time Ana won the competition was when she was 8 years old and Carlos have been studying dance since he was 9 years old. Carlos said even he was from an area that's marginalized and very poor ,but it was possible that he became a principal dancer for the Royal Ballet because he did it by working hard, dreaming big and don't be afraid. For Ana, she said, her experiences she gained was developed for better and better.
I noticed that even they achieved their goals but they'll set their new goals again. That's causing them to develop their abilities all the time and pursue them.

  6. I watched some videos about CarlosAcosta and found that he thinks there are so many ways to say "I love you" through movement and people have different interpretation of them. He said dancing is powerful in terms of this.

  7. Both of them were able to accomplish these things with the support of many people in common. They were not wealthy, but they were able to succeed because of the support of many people. So I thought I could do anything with the help and support of others. Of course it takes a lot of effort.

  8. I watched the news about Carlos Acosta. (https://youtu.be/2GWR-eJmNdc) He always tries to adopt new ideas into ballet because he wants to break stereotypes about it. In his concert, there are many dancers not only women but also men who wear various uniforms and perform several types of dance. All of them are new, so the audience pays attention to his concert and finds new excitement. The most impressive comment is that people do not know many interesting things around them. Carlos found the most interesting thing, ballet, and he enjoys it very much. I learned that it is an important point to achieve goals. I do not need any special talents, just enjoy with all my strength. First of all, I will try to find something which I can be crazy.

  9. What’s impressive about Carlos Acosta was that he made use of his background and skin color which most people think of as disadvantages. I believe that this indicates that any disadvantages can be advantages if you believe in yourself.
